The Roaming Hen Farm Shop is the latest addition to shopping at The Courtyard, just outside Settle on the A65.

Life-long farmer and proprietor, Andrew Bailey, sells free-range eggs from his own pure breed hens, some of which live in the field next to the shop!

‘I started keeping and showing chickens when I was a youngster and won my first competition when I was 12 years old. That win fuelled a life-long passion for breeding my own hens and selling the eggs from them. I take great pride in giving my hens the best life possible – the better they live, the better they lay, which guarantees a quality egg for the consumer.’

Eyes on the pies!

Andrew also stocks fresh-from-the-farm produce including locally sourced meats and cheeses along with newly-picked fruit and veg. Just-out-of-the-oven bread and baked goods are also on sale alongside a plethora of delightful and unusual conserves and honey, dry goods, heavenly home-made ice creams and locally hand-crafted gifts and greetings cards. Since opening in June 2018, Andrew has quickly established an excellent reputation for his pork pies. Regular visitors to the farm shop know to come early before they sell out! Keen to support talented local artists, the walls of the shop are adorned with fabulous original artworks and limited edition prints of farm animals and British wildlife, all for sale and patiently created with love.

Ey up, chook!
